Despite the fact that our entity has countless athletes, of all ages, today we present to you a small part of those who have put Sonora at the top of each national and international event in which they participate and already have competitions in 2022.

We cannot begin a list, however short, without first mentioning Sonora’s most successful and recognized athlete in recent years.

The archer and bronze medalist from the last Olympic Games Tokyo 2020 started this year on the right foot, as she not only qualified for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador, but she also did this with great precision in her arrows.

The Hermosillo native earned her ticket both individually and for the women’s teams at the last Copa Puerto Rico, where she won gold and silver respectively.

The weightlifter from Obregon is living one of her best moments in her career, because at 20 she is already considered one of the best weightlifters in the country in her category.

Guillén Vázquez said she was happy with this start and one of her biggest dreams is to be able to compete and win a medal at the Olympic Games.

“I aspire to have my own physiotherapy clinic, that would be one of my goals and also qualifying for the Olympics and winning a gold medal is my biggest motivation. It would also be to fight, I’m inside, again”, he specified for The Sun of Hermosillo.

“Since I was little, as if my parents also noticed it, I have always had a strong character, but I feel that it is because since I was little I have clear objectives”, a- she added.
