Mural painting and workshops in Paiporta

the Paiporta Town Hall celebrated on April 7 the world health day, which commemorates the birth of WHO, with a series of street activities focused on promoting healthy lifestyles. In addition, a new mural has been released in commemoration of this day, the work of Valencian artist Alejandra de la Torre.

The actions were concentrated in Plaza 3 de Abril, with the Paiporta Health Center, and had the participation of Workshops for active aging, which offered art therapy and tai chi, the Table against Unwanted Solitude, which carried out a salutary march, and the Nuevas Amas association, which organized an exhibition of Latin dances.

In addition, the Paiporta section of the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC)the Association of Cochlear Implants of the Valencian Community (AICCV) and Horta South Red Cross, which publicized some of its community health improvement programs.

For the Councilor of Welfare, Health and Public Health, Raphael Gadea, “The intention of the City Council through conferences like this and the activities proposed by the Department is to promote health and that it be permeated in all municipal policies”, in addition to “promoting habits that avoid a excessive medicalization of treatments”.

Gadea added that “this year the world health day focuses on the care of the planet as a fundamental element of the preservation of health, two elements, the environment and health, which are closely linked, as shown by the appearance of the coronavirus, which experts place in the destruction of nature as part of increased risk of virus transmission from animals to humans.

Another activity was the presentation of the mural of Alexandra de la Tourwhich was located on Calle Mestre Serrano, and which represents fundamental elements to improve health, such as a balanced diet, sports practice, social interactions and care for the environment itself.

The presentation ceremony took place in the presence of representatives of the Council Health Center of municipal health, who have opted for all these actions as an excellent means of improving health, and have encouraged the participants to establish the group of healthy walks as a fixed and regular activity, since they combine physical activity with social contact.
