Sant Boi organizes La Tecnòloga, a science and technology campus to “defend” the role of women

the Municipality of Sant Boi (Baix Llobregat) organizes the first Campus of Science and Technology of the municipality. Under the name of ‘La Tecnòloga’, from April 25 to May 8, a activity program addressing audiences of all ages to highlight the low presence and visibility of women in the world of Science and technology.

For two weeks, the municipality will focus on the goal of making the gender gap visible and, according to the council, “to take another step in the trajectory as a city leader in the fight for equality“.

The program provides more than 60 activities is aimed at all audiences and will offer conferences, workshops, exhibitions and fun encounters. A dozen of public facilities and spaces of the city will host these activities, which have the collaboration of groups such as Young it Girls, OpenData Initiative or Les Luciferasses.

The inaugural act will take place on April 25 in Cal Ninyo, where a round table will be held in the presence of the mayor, Louisa Moretas well as the members of the Campus Expert Committee.

One of the strengths of the program is the Data visualization challengean innovative event that encourages citizens to participate in the data visualization contest designed to show the reality of digital divides and inequalities in science and technology.
