Sport, an ally of mental health: Cecufid


Within the framework of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the State Commission for Physical Culture and Sport carried out for the first time a series of activities alluding to this date

Morelia, Michigan, April 7, 2022.- As part of the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace, the State Commission for Physical Culture and Sports conducted for the first time a series of activities alluding to this date.

It was a massive physical activation activity with adults and seniors, where more than 100 people participated in the “Carlos Espinoza de los Monteros” auditorium; in addition to recreational games of cachibol and also physical activities with the students of the Cecufid Sports Development Centers.

“Relation between physical activation and mental health” was the title given to a conference hosted by the State Secretariat for Health through the Directorate of Mental Health, in which Grisel Tello Pimentel, President honorary from the state’s DIF system, which maintained that they work very hard on the issue of mental health and addictions, “we know that sport changes lives and I celebrate these types of events, forums and of training, they are doing a great job here hand in hand with Raúl Morón Vidal, because finally sport is well-being for everyone, so we have the possibility of having an impact on the lives of others and the responsibility that we have in each of our spaces to support others,” he said.

On behalf of Dr. Elías Ibarra Torres, Secretary of Health of the State, Axayacatl Marín Correa, Deputy Director of Medical Attention, attended, who stated that “the Commission of Physical Culture and Sports of Michoacán itself- even generates all the conditions so that athletes, young people and adults can come and spread the spirit, work the body, and the UN itself says that in a healthy body, a healthy mind”.

On behalf of Dr. Raúl Morón Vidal, Director of the State Commission for Physical Culture and Sports, Dr. Iván Ramiro Chávez Ponce, Deputy Director of Cecufid, said that the doors of the Commission are always open to support and assist in events of this type, “the activity that we promote so much here, undoubtedly enjoys the harmony of well-being and of course peace, without a doubt, our dependence will always be in favor of this type of activity that promotes and seeks well-being for all,” he concluded.
