Celaya, Guanajuato.- The municipal government of Celaya, through the System of Physical and Sports Culture of Celaya (Sidec) has recognized its medal-winning athletes and coaches of the CONADE National Games 2022.
At the event, which took place at Fundadores 450 Park in Celaya, Celayans who contributed to Guanajuato’s medals were highlighted.
The Celayens won 31 medals for Guanajuato and, for the second straight year, the state was in the top 5 of the national medal table.
the city president, Javier Mendoza Marquezhighlighted the efforts of athletes and coaches, in addition to recognizing the winners of the Municipal Sport Award and Recognition, as well as the Distinguished Personalities for their trajectory of more than 50 years of promoting municipal sport.
“I am very happy to be in this moving event. My heartfelt thanks to you medal winners and your coaches. Last June we had the honor of reporting them. You are proud athletes of Celaya, who have achieved an exceptional performance at the CONADE national championships.We reaffirm the excellent sporting level of Celaya.
I invite you to be good men and women. Behind every athlete, there is a family that is committed to supporting them. He also congratulated the winners of the Prize and the Municipal Sports Recognition, as well as the Distinguished Personalities who are decorated,” the mayor said in his message.
The director of Sidec, Andres Barrientos Gonzalezendorsed the commitment to support athletes and enhance their development.
“I want to congratulate the athletes and coaches for their achievements that have made our state of Guanajuato, for the second consecutive year, fifth in the national medal table. Congratulations to those who won the Prize and the Municipal Recognition, as well as to our glories”, commented the director.
The cyclist Jorge Andres Segura Garcia On behalf of the athletes, he thanked the constant support of the authorities and asked his fellow athletes to continue working with the aim that Celaya continues to be excellent in the sport.
They were present Marco Heroldo Gaxiola Romo, director of the Sports Commission of the State of Guanajuato (CODE); María Eloísa Cholico Torres, Councilor and President of the City Council Sports Commission; Patricia García Montes, President of the Board of Directors of Sidec and César Manuel Martínez García, judo coach.
