State health centers accredited by the Government of Mexico in quality – El Sudcaliforniano

La Paz, Baja California Sur, (OEM-Informex).- A total of 21 health centers in Baja California Sur obtained at the end of 2022 the quality accreditation granted by the Government of Mexico to medical establishments that have adequate operational staff, sufficient materials and supplies, as well as functional and safe infrastructures to provide timely and quality care to people deprived of all their rights.

This opinion of the General Directorate of Quality and Health Education (DGCES), which was notified this Wednesday to the State Authority, is the result of the efforts that the administration headed by Governor Víctor Castro Cosío has undertaken to improve the provision of services in the medical units of the State through the optimal use of human and material resources, said the head of the branch, Zazil Flores Aldape.

These accreditations are granted on the basis of reviews carried out last February by specialists from the Government of Mexico as well as external evaluators to verify the workforce of these health centers and corroborate that their staff had the appropriate profiles for their functions. These visits also confirmed the processes they follow to provide preventive and therapeutic interventions to users, to store medicines and healing materials, as well as to process patients’ clinical information, he added.

These assessments also confirm that the properties are in an appropriate physical condition, with preventive or corrective maintenance, so that health workers can provide consultations and other health services to low-income people who do not have coverage. IMSS or ISSSTE, added the official, informing that among the accredited units is the health center with expanded services in Cabo San Lucas; the health centers of Lomas del Sol, El Caribe, Leonardo Gastélum, Miraflores, Santa Anita and Santiago in the municipality of Los Cabos.
