They announced the Chileciteño Sports Festival 2023
The Circle of Sports Journalists of Chilecito will be the one who will organize the event, together with the Municipal Secretariat of Sports of the Department of Chilecito.
Last week, the president of the circle, Roberto Olivera, was the one who confirmed to the press the date on which the well-deserved recognitions will be given to the most eminent and outstanding sportsmen of the department of Chilecito.
On Friday, February 24, the awards ceremony will take place with preselections in almost forty sports disciplines practiced in the department, which will be held at the sports center in the Castro y Bazán neighborhood or in the Plaza de la Cultura, which will be defined in the next days.
On this occasion, the special prize for excellence awarded by the Cercle des Journalistes Sportifs and the prize for excellence awarded by the Municipal Sports Secretariat will also be awarded.
The event was chosen for the month of February, precisely in the anniversary month of Chilecito, as had been done last year.
It was held on February 25 last year in the facilities of the “José Martín Spallanzani” neighborhood sports center in the Castro and Bazán neighborhood with a large gathering of athletes, leaders and families of athletes.
On the occasion, it was the 2022 edition of the award ceremony for the exceptional sportsmen of the department of Chilecito, which on the occasion was carried out with the joint organization of the municipal secretary for sports and the circle of journalists athletes from Chilecito.
Among the authorities present at the event were Mayor Rodrigo Brizuela y Doria, Vice Mayor Sebastián Gutiérrez, Municipal Sports Secretary Jorge Castro, Councilors Marcos Dallaglio and Gastón Leiva, Mr. Roberto Olivera the President of the Circle of Sports Journalists premises, among other municipal authorities and the National University of Chilecito who were part of the event.
Nearly forty disciplines have been recognized with these awards, with athletes who excelled in the 2021 season, who were not shortlisted with previous years, with a winner in each of them as was usually done, directly rewarded in general in each discipline.
In addition, the organization awarded prizes for sports career, special mentions to athletes and leaders as well as sports work.
Some of the most notable include Jazmín Ortenzi (tennis), Gabriel Chade (soccer), Diego Llanos and Carla Scaglioni (enduro), Agustín Durán and Joaquín Vera MTB), Gimena Mattus and Jaquelina Corso (women’s rugby), Agustina Vega and Alejo Ruiz (road cycling), Mateo Corso, Lautaro Trigo and Lautaro Velázquez (basketball), Juan Rodríguez (bodybuilding), Miguel Zalazar (adapted table tennis), Gastón Martínez, Jockey Club Chilecito (hockey), Nicolás Castro, Axel Galleguillo and Matías Cerezo (athletics), Kevin Caviedes (adapted football), among others.
